Aug 15, 2011

Online education option now available to all schools for compliance with Senate Bill 311

Under Ohio Senate Bill 311, all Ohio school districts are required to offer a credit flexibility program to its students by the beginning of the 2010-2011 school year, enabling high school students to earn credits by demonstrating subject area competency in lieu of or in combination with instruction. The Ohio Department of Education has approved online classes as a credit flex option.

The National Network of Digital Schools and Lincoln Interactive, the country’s leading provider of online curriculum, are proud to announce the launch of CREDITFLEX, available to all Ohio school districts for compliance with Senate Bill 311.

Lincoln Interactive forms the basis for the CREDITFLEX program, offering a diverse variety of options for students who are interested in pursuing educational opportunities in a flexible, online format.

Meeting all state requirements, CREDITFLEX provides Ohio school districts with a plan to address the unique needs of today’s students by offering:

  • Expanded curriculum offerings: Students can choose from more than 250 online, self-paced semester courses, at basic and advanced levels. Students can take core courses or a variety of electives, everything from basic math to forensics to web design.
  • Highly qualified teachers: All Lincoln Interactive courses are taught by licensed teachers who are highly qualified in their fields.
  • Increased flexibility: Students are able to complete course work either from school or at home; they can choose what works for them.
